Inner Mongolia Normal University, located in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a regular higher education institution organized by the people’s government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a college organized by normal education collaborative quality improvement program, the first higher education institution established by the Party and the Country in the border minority areas after the founding of the People’ s Republic of China, and a key university in the autonomous region. It is a comprehensive normal university with distinct characteristics of normal education and ethnic education. The school was formerly known as Inner Mongolia Normal College, which was founded in May 1952. In March 1954, Inner Mongolia Normal College, which was formed by the merger of Zhangjiakou Normal College and Suiyuan Normal College, was merged into Inner Mongolia Normal College. In August 1954, the college moved from Ulanhot to Hohhot. In 1982, the college was renamed Inner Mongolia Normal University. In July 2000, Inner Mongolia Institute of Education was absorbed into the university.
